Mikael Haveri, the head of self-publishing at Housemarque, has taken to the PSBlog to unveil some new details about the tactical team shooter Alienation.
Haveri announced that there will be a plethora of customisation in Alienation come release date;
Since the game features three main character classes, plenty of loot and a ton of weapon customisations, the number of different team set-ups is astronomical. […] Customising your character layouts will give you and your team a distinct advantage over the beasts from beyond. Many soldiers have returned from the field in a body bag after heading out with too much confidence. The run and gun strategy will get you a few victories, but it will not win the war. Coordination and building trust with your teammates will ultimately be the difference between life and death. This trial will not be an easy one, but let’s make sure that the slimebags know that they have come to the wrong planet.
This information came complete with a new gallery of screenshots;
Alienation, which was announced at Gamescom 2014, is a tactical team based shooter where the main objective is to defeat waves of aliens – with a twist. Like most other Housemarque games, the high score is really the master and you can turn on your team mates in the hopes of earning a higher score.
Alienation is coming to the PS4 as a console exclusive.
Now this is perhaps a match made in heaven. Developers of the megalicious Resogun are teaming up with legendary game developer Eugene Jarvis the guy behind such greats as Defender, Robotron and the magnificent Smash TV.
That’s right Housemarque and Jarvis got together and chatted about the state of video games, more specifically the state of arcades and old school gaming in general. Amongst all the chitter chatter Jarvis revealed he is working on a new game in conjunction with Housemarque, his first team up since the ill-fated Cruis’n USA.
“When I saw Resogun I couldn’t believe how these Housemarque guys took Defender to a new level. I wondered… what would happen if we teamed up? Mash up old school arcade with mad voxel tech and crazed nouveau Helsinki gamers… All I know now is that it is going to be explosive”.
This is just absolutely great news when you think about the Resogun and Dead Nation and how similar they are to Defender and Smash TV the mind boggles as to what we can expect when the team up reveal their first game in this new endeavour, a Smash TV remake would suit me just fine with online and local co-op please.
Well this is some good news on this day of spookiness. PlayStation 4 launch title and arguably still one of the best games on the system is heading on over to the PS Vita!
The news comes in the form of a twee from the Finnish developers Housemarque.
We can confirm: RESOGUN is coming to PSVita thanks to the guys at @climaxstudios! More details on the port will soon be released by Sony.

This is great news for those of you who have yet to play this briliant shoot-em-up. Although it does seem a little bit pointless seeing as if you have a PS4 and a PS Vita you can play the game via the PlayStation’s excellent link-up play. Still, at least now you can take Resogun on the bus with you.
In case you are unaware, Resogun is a arcade shoot-em-up that see’s gamers transported to a world made up of tiny cubes. you fly around a 3D cylinder and shoot things. Doesn’t sound that exciting but believe me when I tell you it’s one of the finest games you can get on the PS4.
Here is a cryptic and quite entertaining teaser trailer for you. Housemarque, the guys behind my favourite PS4 game so far, Resogun and zombie shoot fest Dead Nation have released this teaser in the style of a breaking news story.
Unlike most teasers, there’s no overly dramatic music, no CG movie, just Mikeal Havri reporting on what appears to be an invasion of some sort, just as he’s announce the ‘Out of this world’ game which is due to be revealed at Gamescom 2014.
What this game could be is anyone’s guess, but given the developers past record of pretty good games, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Stay tuned to PSGamer as our main man Sean is heading over there to make his presence felt. Check the trailer below.
