The story of a boy who must use his wits and ingenuity to survive and ultimately escape from a mysterious island and a terrible curse, Rime is releasing as a PS4 exclusive in 2015.
OlliOlli was a revelation for skating games when it released last year on the PS4 and Vita. Utilising a unique way to pull off your favourite tricks and a simplistic but ingenious way of landing them and making them stick, OlliOlli was an instant hit – and now developers Roll7 are taking the series to the next level with a new art style, grind switching, manuals and split route levels. OlliOlli 2 will be releasing on the PS4 and Vita in 2015.
Ninja Theory are being incredibly candid about the development process of Hellblade, the deffinately-not-a-Heavenly-Sword-sequel (even if the main characters do look identical). The only reason that Hellblade is a PS4 exclusive is because there is a small team working on the game and it is easier to develop for a single platform, so it is more than likely that the game will eventually make its way onto other consoles should the game be successful on the PS4. In the mean time, Hellblade will be releasing as a PS4 exclusive in 2015.
God Eater 2: Rage Burst
God Eater 2 is already a cult classic on the PSP (and subsequently the PSVita) but a new, glossier version is in development for the PS4 and the PSVita an will release in 2015.
Frictional Games – the team behind the Amnesia and Penumbra games – have a track record of making the scariest games around and SOMA looks like it is following that trend. A PS4 console exclusive, SOMA will be browning out undercrackers in 2015.
After a long period out in the development wilderness, Supermassive Games reintroduced us to Until Dawn at Gamescom 2014 and the extra time in development has made one hell of a difference. Now a PS4 exclusive and launching in 2015, the game has taken a teen horror theme and focuses on making your own choices in order to survive a stay in a wood cabin with a brutal murdered.
Galak-Z combines rougelike and classic arcade shmup action with modern day sensibilities and cutting edge AI. Prepare for thumb ache and detached retinas when this lands on the PS4 as a console exclusive in 2015.
Bombshell was originally in development as a Duke Nukem game but after a legal spat between Gearbox, 3D Realms and Interceptor, the developers change the games protagonist. Instead of the smart mouthed Duke, we now have a bad ass babe with a robotic arm who has a penchant for Dan Jacksons whisky and ownes one sweet looking motorbike. Coming to the PS4 as a console exclusive in 2015.
Ratchet & Clank
Insomniac Games have been eerily quiet about the Ratchet & Clank reboot, most likely because they are still focusing all of their PR power at Sunset Overdrive. We haven’t even seen the first trailer for this game yet but the hype for the next game featuring the plucky Lombax and his mini-robot friend has already begun. Ratchet & Clank is set to release in 2015 as a PS4 exclusive.
Ether One was one of the first games ever to be labelled a “walking simulator” but don’t let that fool your because this game has a wonderful world to explore and some difficult puzzles to master (which are optional), all underpinning a strong story about how fragile the human mind can be. Being entirely rebuilt in Unreal Engine 4, Ether One will be a console exclusive for the PS4 in 2015.
