Insomniac’s movie tie-in gets a late April release.

If, like me, you’re insurmountably excited about the upcoming Ratchet & Clank reboot, you may be sad to know that the late February release date has been pushed up eight weeks to April 20th.

BOO!!!!! Yes, we hear the cry, but it can only be a good thing right? Delays are here to make games just that little bit more polished, and if it means a better game all around than we’re all for it.

Still, we can’t help but wonder about that release date. Isn’t there another rather highly anticipated PS4 exclusive coming only days later? Why yes, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

It looks like it’ll be a rather expensive end of the month for PlayStation owners as both are now releasing less than ten days apart from each other, which seems unusually close considering how popular both games will prove to be. Will Ratchet stumble under the weight of people holding off their cash to get Uncharted? Or is Sony banking on both games being as popular as they would be with different release dates?

Either way, it’s going to be a wonderful couple of weeks. We were lucky enough to play Ratchet & Clank at last years EGX and can happily report it’s looking and playing beautifully, so we’re hugely excited to get on the final product.

Ratchet & Clank is due on PS4 on April 20th. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End arrives April 29th.

Let the games begin! Um, at the end of April…
