Xeodrifters finally gets PS4 and PSVita release date, will be cross-buy

Renegade Kid have finally announce the release date of critically acclaimed Xeodrifters for the PS4 and PSVita – September 1st!

After taking to twitter back in June to say that Xeodrifters was “Delayed but still coming“, developers Renegade Kid have finally got a release date for their neon Metroidvania platformer. We won’t have to wait long either as Xeodrifters will be launching onto the PS4 and PSVita on September 1st.

Xeodrifter puts players in the role of a galaxy traversing nomad whose ship becomes damaged and stranded in the dark void space. To rebuild his ship and go home, players will discover four sprawling planets, unlocking new abilities along the way to further their means of exploration, upgrade weapons, and become a more formidable threat to the dangerous inhabitants of these strange worlds.

Xeodrifters originally released on the 3DS all the way back in December 2014 and received some very positives reviews from the likes of Destructoid and Nintendo World Report. Destructiods Jonathon Holmes said “It’s like magic, guys. Time disappears when this game and I are together, and I never want it to end. I’m not sure if this is a love that will last forever, but if it is, you’ll get no complaints from me.

Xeodrifter will cost Price: $9.99 / £7.99 / 9.99 Euros when it releases and will take advantage of the cross buy promotion meaning that if you buy it for PS4 or PSVita, the game will also be available on the other platform, free of charge.
