Is this the end for Little Big Planet?

It looks like the online services for Little Big Planet are coming to an end, In Japan at least

Everything that is Little Big Planet related which including the three main games, Little Big Planet Portable, and Little Big Planet Karting will see the servers shut down on 31st July in Japan.

This means gamers will no longer be able to view and play other users’ levels and games, upload their own and access any of  the online functions.

Gamers need to be aware that these closures are in Japan only, what happens in the west is still unclear although Sony has confirmed closures of LittleBigPlanet Portable and Karting servers here and in the U.S.

Considering there has been no announcement from Sony or Media Molecule for a PS4 Little Big Planet, I think it can be safe to assume that’s the end of Sack Boy and co. Although I hope not, he’s become as synonymous with PlayStation as Crash Bandicoot has.

We have reached out to Sony so stay tuned
