If you’re excited about the new DOOM then you’ll want to keep April 15-18 free as that’s when the open beta hits town
You won’t need a code, or anything rubbish like that just logon to your trusty PS4 and download the beta, where you can have access to Team Deathmatch and Warpath game modes on the Heatwave and Infernal maps.
That’s the beta news out of the way Doom is also coming with a bunch of post launch support, some free, and some premium, the free content, well that’s free of course but here’s what you’ll be getting if you want to shell out the bucks (£11.99 to be precise) each pack will give you new maps, hack modules, playable demons amongst other things.
Three new maps
One new weapon
One new playable demon
One new armour set
One new piece of equipment
New hack modules and taunts
New customization colours and patterns
There will also be heavy support for Doom’s SnapMap a new thing coming to Doom which is designed to help the creation and distribution of player generated content. Here’s the blurb
We know the DOOM community has always been about great user-generated content, and that’s something we want to continue to encourage with SnapMap, an innovative new component of DOOM designed to make creating, sharing and playing new game experiences fast and easy. On top of being able to access and play new modes and maps created by fellow gamers, id plans to offer content updates for SnapMap, including map modules; props and objects; additional features and functionality; AI enhancements; editing tool enhancements and more. Multiplayer will also receive content updates in the form of new game modes. Both of these SnapMap and multiplayer updates will be free to use and play.
Doom will be hitting PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 13
